Last Nights Full Cold Moon

Rare Full Cold Moon will brighten the sky on Christmas day: Lunar event is the first in 38 years and it won't happen again until 2034

  • It is called Full Cold Moon because it occurs during the beginning of winter
  • Rare celestial event will peak at 06.11 EST (23.11 GMT Christmas Eve) 
  • The last time a full moon dawned in the skies on Christmas was in 1977
  • Nasa's Goddard Centre said the event won't happen again until 2034
